PJCAD has implemented a Mentoring System to further enhance the educational experience of all of its students.
Each student is assigned a Mentor for the entirety of his/her time studying at the college. It is the role of the Mentor to act as a guide and helper to the student and to monitor his/her progress throughout their course of studies.
The Mentor/student relationship is an important one as it enables students to talk in confidence with someone they can trust about any issues they may have. Furthermore, Mentors are generally appointed from the non-lecturing staff so that there will be no conflict of interest regarding academic matters.
Mentors are chosen for their experience and abilities in a wide range of areas. They all have considerable knowledge of the academic and commercial fields. Some are parents and, it goes without saying, they all know what it is like to be a student.
Colleges and universities throughout the world employ the Mentoring system. It plays an essential part in fostering community spirit within an institution and gives the student population a voice. We at PJCAD recognise the value of that.
