The Certificate in Design is a three-semester
program that provides students with an introductory, hands-on experience of design study. The program prepare students for entry into further study or possible design related employment.
The course focused on introducing and developing key skills and techniques in design. At the end of the program, students will have a good understanding of the fundamental principles of design and their application in practice through hands-on creative assignments.
Their experiences in this program will enable them to make informed choices when thinking about further education in design.
The course aims to provide:
A broad-based experience of basic practical and conceptual design study where students learn to manipulate the principles and elements of design while developing technical skills with various tools and media.
A framework for individual development in the design field, balancing self expression and creative exploration with pragmatic work-oriented discipline.
An understanding of design concepts and methods which will support subsequent industry practice or further study. |
